Episode 11: Joshua Karton Talks Stage Fright, Teaching Lawyers & Communication Techniques in Trial
“The script, no matter how brilliant, cannot be the performance. And because I had to understand that, it became useful in working with trial lawyers because all of the early training for the trial lawyer is as a writer. Any personal interpretation from the beginning in law school, you’re shamed out of, ‘we don’t care how you feel, that’s not what it’s about’, and ‘you aren’t getting the words right’. I had to learn for myself that getting the words right, is not important.” – Joshua Karton, TLC’s Communication Expert
Communication is at the very core of what it is to be human, and for trial attorneys, justice can depend on it. But what is good communication made of? Scott Glovsky and Joshua Karton explore the question in this episode of the Trial Lawyers College Podcast.
