Episode 4: Trial Attorney Nelson Tyrone & the Extraordinary Power of Story
“I really came to believe that a lawyer can overcome a much bigger more powerful opponent like the US Government. I came to believe powerfully in the power of story metaphor that there are human truths that we all understand and appreciate and if you can find the one that communicates your client’s story that the jury already knows to be true, whether they’ve heard the story or not but know the message to be true, that can lead to justice.” – Nelson Tyrone, 2000 TLC Grad
Nelson Tyrone talks with Trial Lawyer Talk Host, and TLC Grad, Scott Glovsky where Nelson recounts the incredible impact of one story on a trial and how he learned to better understand his client. Nelson’s client made a bad decision with the wrong people in a drug gang and ended up on the wrong side of the law. The allegations of his client were that he was apart of this drug act in which he was not. Nelson had to discover the story with his client and relay that story to the jury in which a verdict in his client’s favor concluded this case.
